"You ain't a man until you have slept with a black woman," I overheard one white man say as these interviews began to take shape. However, he wasn't finished, he went further and said, "Black women will do any damn thing in bed because she's too scared not to." Pieces of A Puzzle is a book that explores the secret sexual affairs among white men and black females. Why is it a secret? Well, within the subtitle we find that answer, because it's "the one thing black females will not talk about," as a matter of fact, no one is willing to talk about that subject openly and honestly.
White men say, white women are "boring" in bed.
To cement and keep this secret going, research revealed that white men do many things among them, they do very little talking when they are engaged in sexual affairs with black women. They also creep around with us at night, this to helps to maintain the secret. As part of the interviewing process, I would ask white men questions concerning white women. I wanted to know what did white women do in bed with them, but when I asked, they would not give out any details, they just said white women were "boring" in bed.
Secrets Get Bigger Over Time
The book is composed of a collection of interviews from 13 white men and 15 black women, both dealing with the subject matter of sex and race. It takes a deeper look into this controversial subject and tell why people will not talk about it, both black and white. What's going on? The idea is to keep this subject matter open for many reasons because when secrets are kept, the hidden issue gets bigger over time, then it turns into baggage that we carry around with us as it grows, then the baggage turns into something we try to run from with drugs and alcohol. The longer we hold it within us the worse it gets. It's like food that sits in the body too long and rots inside us!
